项目简述:本项目采用“金属一步气化法”技术制备高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体,通过对ITO纳米粉体的组织与微结构分析、制备工艺的优化,开发高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体生产技术,使企业具备高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体的生产能力,使高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体的生产技术和产品质量达到国际先进水平。目前高纯金属铟的市场除作为焊接材料添加元素外,主要是销往日本等国生产ITO粉体。我国是铟资源大国,每年冶炼金属铟可达200吨,居世界首位。透明电极材料锡氧化物ITOIndium Tin Oxide)作为一种重要的深加工产品,不具有优良的导电性和可见光透明性。其对可见光的透过率高达95%以上;对紫外线的吸收率≥85%;对红外线的反射率≥70 %;对微波的衰减率≥85%;同时ITO薄膜的加工性能极好,ITO膜层硬度高且耐磨耐蚀,因而ITO透明电极材料近年来在薄膜晶体管(TFT)、平板液晶显示(LCD)、电色层窗口、光生伏打器件中的有源和无源组元以及红外辐射反射热镜薄膜等方面获得了广泛应用。作为当今信息产业重要的电子材料产品,透明电极材料ITO以液晶显示、太阳能电池、固体电色(EC)器件、电磁屏蔽、雷达屏蔽保护和节能建筑为主要应用领域,而在这些领域对透明导电薄膜的性能要求也越来越高。高品质ITO粉体所制备的高性能靶材是透明ITO薄膜生产及决定ITO薄膜质量的关键技术之一。目前高品质ITO粉体产品只有德国、美国、日本等国家生产,我国尚处于研发阶段,还未形成产业。而我国一些大型玻璃产业公司,如“南玻”、“洛玻”等已建成数条ITO玻璃产品生产线,对高品质ITO粉体的需求也在增加,但其所用高品质ITO粉体目前还主要依赖于从国外进口;而在国际市场上,随着透明电极用量的急剧增长,ITO粉末用量也急剧增加。因此,高品质ITO粉体的开发在国内外都具有良好的产业前景。

    项目实施依据:市场开拓和项目可行性研究

项目单位简介:本项目由云南宣威市金沙工贸公司、昆明理工大学共同完成,共同设计并建立ITO纳米粉体生产装置,完成项目的中试试验,并最终生产高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体产品。云南宣威市金沙工贸公司负责完成高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体制备的中试装置的平面、立体图的初步设计,以及旧厂房的改造,负责组织高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体产品的生产试验。昆明大学开发高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体的技术和工艺参数,完成相关技术的中小试试验,并协助生产企业生产高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体产品;负责完成高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体制备的中试装置的初步设计、共同完成3000 kg/高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体生产装置安装、调试、中试试验,产品进行测试分析,企业技术生产人员的培训,协助云南金沙工贸有限公司完成高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体制备技术的消化吸收。

依托昆明理工大学建立的云南省新材料制备与加工重点实验室是我省新材料研究与开发的创新平台,装备有较为完善的材料制备、加工、检测分析设备,聚集了一批基础理论扎实、实际经验丰富的中青年科技工作者,形成了一支朝气蓬勃、富有创新精神的团队,承担了多项国家、省部级科研项目。经过国家教育部考察、专家评审,教育部于2005年批准在省级重点实验室的基础上建设“稀贵及有色金属教育部重点实验室”,这是在国家层面上对昆明理工大学新材料尤其是在有色金属、稀贵金属新材料科研工作的肯定,此举将进一步增强重点实验室的科技创新能力、提高科研水平和服务我省社会经济发展的实力。在云南省发展光电子产业中,重点实验室将成为铟基新材料研发及创新的重要源头。

云南宣威金沙工贸有限公司,于20035月按现代企业制度组建成立,是一家新型科技企业,由云南省商务厅批准为自营出口企业。公司现有职工80人,注册资金538万元,固定资产311万元,现已建成了六台真空炉,公司与昆明理工大学签订了长期合作的协议,并建立了合作关系。公司主营稀散金属铟和锗的开发利用,并进行铁、铜、锌、锰矿石运销和精锌产品的加工销售等。公司2004年产值已达1亿元,并与日本、英国签订了长期的供货合同,今年将出口创汇950万美元。公司整体具有十分强烈的科技创新意识,有能力和实力完成科技项目。

项目负责人:孔得精,男,1994年~2003年任宣威市兴发福利精锌厂厂长,2003年至今任宣威市金沙工贸有限公司董事长。近年来主持云南省中小型企业创新项目一项,商务部项目一项。项目顾问:陈敬超,男,昆明理工大学教授,云南省新材料制备与加工重点实验室副主任、稀贵及有色金属先进材料教育部重点实验室副主任,中国材料研究学会青年工作委员会理事,国家科技部新产品评审专家,中国材料网(国家科技部)理事会理事、咨询专家,云南省中青年学术和技术带头人后备人才。在有色金属(铝、铜、锡、铅等)、稀贵金属(钛、铟、银、铂族等)新材料的制备、加工技术以及材料科学理论等方面有较深入的研究。先后主持国家科技攻关项目一项、云南省科技攻关项目二项、国家自然科学基金项目一项、云南省自然科学基金项目二项,其他省部级及企业委托项目多项。主要参加国家自然科学基金项目二项、云南省自然科学基金二项、云南省科技攻关项目一项。申请发明专利11项,目前授权6项。发表第一作者学术论文20余篇。在云南省铟资源开发方面,作为材料专家执笔完成了“云南省铟资源及产业发展研究报告”,对云南省铟资源现状、产业发展等进行了深入研究分析、提出了多项建议。项目顾问:竺培显,男,昆明理工大学高级工程师。长期从事金属、合金及其化合物粉体材料制备装备、制备技术的研究开发工作,具有丰富的工程实践经验。先后负责承担2项云南省自然科学基金,主要参加多项国家科技攻关、云南省科技攻关、国家计委高技术示范项目、企业委托研究等项目。

项目在本地区的作用与地位:高品质ITO粉体的生产可有效改善目前云南省铟资源利用的产业链结构,加大铟产品的深加工力度,提高产品抵御市场波动的能力。

    作为我国铟资源的主要产地,目前云南省的高纯铟冶炼已初具规模,出现了蒙自矿冶公司、宣威金沙公司等以高纯铟锭为主导产品的生产企业,产量逐年提高。作为初级产品的铟锭,受市场供求关系影响,价格波动很大。1997年亚洲金融危机后,铟价格大幅回落,2002年为60美元/公斤;近年来,受全球铟需求量的大幅上升,供需缺口增大,铟价也大幅上扬:2003年达到600美元/公斤,2004年超过1000美元/公斤。短期市场行为导致的原料市场价格波动,要求企业提高抗市场风险的能力。因此,在现有以铟初级产品为主的生产基础上,改变产业链结构,将产品向下游延伸,增加铟深加工能力,是企业发展的重要方向。高品质ITO纳米粉体项目,旨在改善我省目前铟生产产品单一的状况、加大我省铟深加工能力、加大我省高新技术在铟产业中的应用力度。ITO纳米粉体生产是当前铟深加工的热点,该项目的有效实施,一方面可为整合我省铟资源提供新的思路、为我省铟系列产品开发打下基础,另一方面,可以确保我省以粗铟和高纯铟产品为主导产品的生产厂家在市场竞争上立于不败之地:以原料为依托,以深加工产品为保障,根据市场调整战略目标和生产任务;从而在国际国内市场上保持高的市场竞争力,大幅提高企业抗市场风险的能力。高品质ITO纳米粉体是先进成膜技术、高性能膜、高质量靶材等关键材料,其技术开发及应用,可填补我国在该领域的生产空白。

高质量ITO粉体作为平板显示器必不可少的材料, 其用途广泛, 用量大, 截止到目前尚无有效廉价材料取代。随着新的显示方法的出现, ITO的成膜技术, 膜性能等提出了越来越高的要求,比如在液晶显示器中, 随着显示器从TNSTN, 以至于TFT液晶, ITO的成膜工艺与成膜质量的要求发生了巨变。新技术、新产品提出的新要求都集中反映在对ITO粉体的质量上。因此,提高ITO粉体品质是必由之路。目前高品质ITO粉体只有西方少数国家能够生产,国内没有生产能力,所需材料全部从国外进口。本项目的实施可填补当前我国在高品质ITO粉体生产的空白。

高品质ITO纳米粉体具有良好的市场和经济价值

作为高品质ITO粉末的下游产品,ITO靶材、玻璃电极及ITO薄膜的需求和产量大幅增加。ITO透明薄膜的需求量以每年35%的速度高速增长,ITO靶材的需求量也大幅上升;同时,我国LCD生产厂家从2002年的20余家急增至目前的100多家,产量急剧增加。在利润方面,以ITO纳米粉体生产靶材计,每吨铟可增值115万美元,其利润丰厚。

建设地的自然条件和社会经济情况:基于云南省具有丰富的铟资源及高纯金属铟的生产优势,本项目通过云南省金属铟生产企业与在纳米材料和功能材料技术研究方面具有良好工作基础的高校合作,进一步对铟资源产品进行深加工开发,系统而深入地开发高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体的生产技术及相关生产工艺,通过高新技术提升传统的有色金属产业,使生产企业提升产品结构并取得良好的经济效益,对云南省地方经济的快速发展,打造云南省“有色金属基地”,发展外向型经济有重要的促进作用,并对我国发展面向未来的信息产业中应用的电子材料都具有重要的意义。

工艺技术方案简述:1)巧妙利用电弧加热技术,提高蒸发温度,强化金属及合金的气化效果;(2)设计蒸发反应区的特殊结构,纯净反应环境;(3)实现连续给料、连续反应、连续制粉的全过程,工艺流程短。这些都保证了项目产品的创新性和先进性。

项目建设内容:金属一步气化法制备高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体设备生产线

项目前期准备工作及进展情况: 1)在昆明理工大学新材料重点实验室内,开发金属一步气化法制备高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体的工艺流程,完成中小试试验(单炉5 kg级);(2)在金沙工贸公司内,设计并建立ITO纳米粉体生产装置,结合中小试试验的技术路线,开发高品质透明电极材料ITO纳米粉体中试生产技术,完成中试试验(单炉20 kg级)。

Research, Development and Export of ITO Nanometer Powder, a High-Quality Transparent Electrode Material

Brief Description of the Project: The project is to make high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder with the “metal one-step gasification process”. Through analyzing the organization and micro structure of ITO nanometer powder and optimizing the preparation process, it is to research and develop the technology to produce high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder, enable the enterprise with the capacity to produce high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder, so that the production technology and product quality of high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder could reach internationally advanced level. Presently, except being used as an additive to welding materials, high-purity indium is mainly sold to Japan for producing ITO powder. China is a country with abundant indium resources, and the metal indium smelted is as high as 200tons, ranking the first place in the world. As an important downstream processed product of indium, transparent electrode material ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) has excellent conductivity and transparency. Its penetration rate of visible light is as high as 95%, its ultraviolet absorption rate is ≥85%, its infra-red reflection rate is ≥70 %, and its attenuation rate against microwave is ≥85%. Simultaneously, the processing properties of ITO membrane is particularly good. ITO membrane has high hardness and resistance against abrasion and corrosion. Therefore, in recent years, ITO transparent electrode material has been extensively applied in active and passive components of TFT, LCD, electrochromatographic window, photovoltaic components, as well as infra-red radiation and reflection thermal mirror membrane, etc. As an important electronic material for today’s information industry, transparent electrode material ITO is mainly applied in the fields of liquid crystal display, solar energy battery, solid EC components, electromagnetic shielding, radar shielding protection and energy-saving buildings, etc., which are more and more demanding for the properties of transparent conductive membranes. High-performance target made of high-quality ITO powder is one of the key technologies to produce transparent ITO membrane, which decides the quality of ITO membrane. Presently, only a few developed countries, such as Germany, United States and Japan are producing ITO powder. China is still at the R&D stage, without forming an industry yet. Some large glass companies, such as Nanbo and Luobo, have built several ITO glass production lines, and their demands for high-quality ITO powder has been increasing. However, they still rely on importing high-quality ITO powder. On the international, with the sharp increase of the transparent electrode consumption, the consumption of ITO powder has also increased sharply. Therefore, the development of high-quality ITO powder has good industrial prospects at home and abroad.

Basis for Implementation of the Project: Market exploitation and feasibility study.

Brief Introduction to the Project Owner: This project was jointly finished by Xuanwei Jinsha Industrial and Commercial Co., Ltd. and Kunming University of Science and Technology. They jointly designed and established the ITO nanometer powder production plant, finished pilot plant test, and finally produced high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder product. Xuanwei Jinsha Industrial and Commercial Co., Ltd. was responsible for finishing the preliminary plane and three-dimensional design of the pilot plant for preparation of high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder product, renovating the old factory building, and organize the production experiments of high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder product. Kunming University of Science and Technology was responsible for developing the technology and process parameters for high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder product, finish the relevant pilot plant test and bench-scale test, and assisting the manufacturer in producing high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder product. They are also to be responsible for finishing the preliminary design of the pilot plant for preparation of high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder product, jointly finish installation, commissioning and pilot plant test of the high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder production plant, conduct inspection analysis about the product, train the technicians and workers of the manufacturer, and assist Xuanwei Jinsha Industrial and Commercial Co., Ltd. In finishing the absorption of the technology to produce high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder.

New Materials Preparation and Processing Key Lab of Yunnan Province established in Kunming University of Science and Technology is a creative platform for R&D of new materials in Yunnan Province. It is equipped with relatively complete equipments for preparation, processing, inspecting and analyzing materials, with a team of middle-aged and young scientists who have solid theoretical foundation and rich experiences, constituting a spirited and creative team, and undertaken several national level and provincial level scientific research projects. After investigation and evaluation by the experts from the Ministry of Education (MOE), MOE approved to construct “Key Lab of the Ministry of Education on Rare, Precious and Non-Ferrous Metals” on the basis of the provincial level key lab. This is a state level affirmation about the scientific research work of Kunming University of Science and Technology about new materials, particularly new materials of non-ferrous metals, rare and precious metals. It surely will further enhance the science and technology creativity of the key lab, and improve their strength of scientific research and ability to serve the socioeconomic development of Yunnan Province. In the course of developing the photoelectron industry in Yunnan, the key lab will become an important source for R&D and creation of indium-based new materials.

Yunnan Xuanwei Jinsha Industry and Commerce Co., Ltd. was established in May 2003 by the modern enterprise system. It is a new type of technology company, which has been approved by the Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province to have the right to import and export products. Presently, the company has a staff of 80 people and 5.38 million RMB registered capital and 3.11 million RMB fixed assets. It has built six vacuum ovens, and signed long-term cooperation agreement with Kunming University of Science and Technology. The company mainly engages in development and utilization of rare metals like indium and germanium, transporting and marketing iron, copper, zinc and manganese ores, processing and selling refined zinc products, etc. The output value of the company reached 100 million RMB in 2004, and the company has signed long-term supply contract with Japan and Great Britain. Their export value will be 9.5 million US dollars this year. The company has very strong awareness of science and technology creation, and has the competence and strength to finish the technology projects.

Project manager: Kong Dejing, male, director of Xuanwei Xingfa Welfare Refined Zinc Factory from 1994 to 2003, and chairman of the board of Xuanwei Jinsha Industry and Commerce Co., Ltd. since 2003. In recent years, he presided over a creative project of medium-sized and small enterprises in Yunnan Province, and a project of Ministry of Commerce. Project Consultant: Chen Jingchao, male, professor of Kunming University of Science and Technology, deputy director of New Materials Preparation and Processing Key Lab of Yunnan Province, deputy director of Key Lab of the Ministry of Education on Rare, Precious and Non-Ferrous Metals, member of Youth Working Committee under China Materials Research Society, new product examination expert of the Ministry of Science and Technology, member and consultant of Council of China Materials Website (Ministry of Science and Technology), a reserve talent for middle-aged and young academic and technology leader in Yunnan Province. He is specialized in the preparation and processing technologies for non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper, tin and zinc, etc.), rare and precious metals (titanium, indium, silver and platinum, etc.), as well as theories about material science. He successively presided over a national science and technology breakthrough project, two science and technology breakthrough projects of Yunnan Province, a national natural science foundation project, two natural science foundation projects of Yunnan Province, and several projects mandated by the other provincial and ministerial authorities and enterprises. He mainly participated in two national natural science foundation projects, two natural science foundation projects of Yunnan Province, and one science and technology breakthrough project in Yunnan Province. He applied for 11 invention patents, in which 6 have been awarded. He published more than 20 academic articles as No. 1 author. In terms of developing indium resources of Yunnan Province, he wrote Study Report on Indium Resources and Industrial Development in Yunnan Province as a material expert. He conducted intensive study and analysis about the status quo and industrial development of indium resources in Yunnan Province, and proposed several suggestions. Project Consultant: Zhu Peixian, male, senior engineer from Kunming University of Science and Technology. He has long been engaged in R&D of equipment and technologies for preparation of metals, alloys and other compound powders, and he has a lot of engineering experiences. He successively undertook two natural science foundation projects of Yunnan Province, and mainly participated in several national science and technology breakthrough projects, Yunnan provincial science and technology breakthrough projects, hi-tech demonstration projects of National Planning Commission, and company-mandated research projects.

Roles and Status of the Project in the Area: Production of high-quality ITO powder may effectively improve the present industrial chain structure of indium resources in Yunnan, reinforce downstream processing of indium products, and improve the ability of the products to resist market fluctuations.

As the main producing area of indium resources in China, Yunnan has preliminarily developed a scaled high-purity indium smelting industry. Manufacturing companies with high-purity indium ingots as the main products, such as Mengzi Mineral Smelting Company and Xuanwei Jinsha Company, have come into being, and the production has been increasing year after year. As a primary product, the price of indium ingots has been subject to the impacts of supply and demand on the market, and fluctuated greatly. After the Asian financial crisis in 1997, indium price dropped significantly, and it was 60USD/kg in 2002. In recent years, as the global indium demands increased significantly, the gap between supply and demand also increased, and the indium price also increased significantly. The price reached 600USD/kg in 2003 and over 1,000USD/kg in 2004. Short-term market acts resulted in great fluctuation of raw material prices, requiring the enterprises to improve the ability to resist market risks. Therefore, based on the present production focusing on primary products of indium, it is an important direction for enterprise development to change the industrial chain structure, extend the downstream processing, and enhance the downstream processing capability. The high-quality ITO nanometer powder project is aimed at improving the simplistic status of indium products in Yunnan, improve the downstream processing capability of indium in Yunnan, and reinforce the efforts to apply hi-tech in the indium industry. ITO nanometer powder production is a hot spot for today’s downstream of indium. To effectively implement the project: On one hand, it may provide new train of thoughts for integrating indium resources in Yunnan, and lay a solid foundation for development of indium product series in Yunnan. On the other hand, it may guarantee that the Yunnan manufacturers focusing on primary indium and high-purity indium products stand in an invincible position in the market competition. Depending on the raw materials, and with downstream processed products as the guarantee, it is to adjust the strategic objectives and production tasks according to the market, so as to maintain high level of competitiveness on the international and domestic markets, and significantly improve the ability of the enterprises to resist market risks. High-quality ITO nanometer powder is a critical material for advanced membrane technology, high-performance membrane and high-quality target materials, etc. The R&D of its technology may fill in the production gap in the field in China.

As an inevitable material for flat displayers, high-quality ITO powder has extensive purposes and large consumption quantity, and it cannot be effectively substituted by cheap materials yet. With the appearance of new display methods, it is more and more demanding for the membrane technology and membrane performances of ITO. For example, in liquid crystal displayer, with the displayers developed from TN to STN, and even TFT, the requirements for ITO membrane process and quality have changed greatly. All the new requirements proposed by new technologies and new products focused on the quality of ITO powder. Therefore, improving ITO powder quality is an evitable road. Presently, only a few western countries can produce high-quality ITO powder, and there is no production capacity in China, all the materials need to be imported. Implementation of the project may fill in the gap of high-quality ITO powder production in China.

High quality ITO nanometer powder has good market and economic values

As downstream products of high-quality ITO powder, the demands and production volumes of ITO target materials, glass electrodes and ITO membrane increased significantly. The demands for ITO transparent film has been increasing by 35% per year, and the demands for ITO target materials have also increased significantly. Simultaneously, Chinese LCD manufacturers have also increased from 20 in 2002 to over 100 today, and the production volume increased significantly. In terms of profits, if ITO nanometer powder is used to produce target materials, each ton of indium may add value by 1.15 million USD, which is very profitable.

Brief Introduction to the Natural Conditions and Socioeconomic Conditions of the Construction Site: Based on the advantageous indium resources and production capacity of high-purity metal indium, this project is to cooperate between a metal indium producing enterprise of Yunnan Province and an university that is well grounded in study of nanometer materials and functional material technologies. It is to further conduct downstream processing and development of indium resources, systematically and intensively develop the production technology and relevant production processes for high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder. It is to upgrade the traditional nonferrous metal industry with hi-tech, improve the product structure of the manufacturers, and gain good economic returns. It may give as strong push for speeding up the local economic development of Yunnan Province, building Yunnan as a “nonferrous metal base”, and developing external-oriented economy. It is important for electronic materials to be used in the information industry in future.

Brief Description of Process Technology Plan: (1) It is to skillfully use the electric arc heating technology, improve the evaporation temperature, reinforce the gasification effects of metals and alloys; (2) It is to design the special structure of the evaporation reaction area, and purify the reaction environment; (3) It is to realize the entire process of continuous feeding, continuous reaction and continuous powder making, with short process flow. All these guaranteed the creativity and progressiveness of the project products.

Construction Content: production line for making high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder with the metal one-step gasification process

Preparatory Work and Progress of the Project: (1) In the Key Lab of New Materials in Kunming University of Science and Technology, it is to develop the process flow of making high-quality transparent electrode material ITO nanometer powder with the metal one-step gasification process, and finish pilot plant test and bench-scale tests (single oven 5kg level); (2) In Jinsha Industry and Commerce Co., Ltd., it is to design and establish an ITO nanometer powder plant, combine the technical route of pilot plant test and bench-scale tests, to finish pilot plant test (single oven 20kg level).

Environmental Impacts of the Project: The project is a hi-tech product R&D project without any pollution.

Estimated Investment and Fundraising: The total investments would be 4.04 million RMB, and the 0.2 million RMB of initial investments have been made, and entered the stage of bench-scale test. It is mainly used for R&D of preliminary ITO powder products.
